Ground Zero mural

Project type: Wall mural
Medium: Enamel paint
Whole project duration: 4 weeks
Date of project: November 2017

I was contacted by C, whose a mutual friend of another project I did for Straits Blinds, wanted a mural for boutique gym. She wanted the word "Let's Begin Here" to reflect the spirit of the studio. Here's a short write up from the studio's website:

"This is where you’ll find your beginning. We are a tribe connected by our passion for sweat, drive for growth and openness to challenges. We treat each other with respect and compassion, no judgements allowed."

After a few round of discussions, we confirmed on the styles, and got to sketching. The sketch this time was done purely with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. Here are a few first drafts:

C and I agreed on the Second option, which concept lies behind the idea of movement and perspiration. And after some more exploration, here's what I ended up with:

C & I were happy at the final draft and I proceed with prepared the artwork, set the date for painting and I got a projector to help me with placement on the wall. Some more process shots below:

After hours of painting, 8 hours to be exact, I completed the mural. It was very fun working with C on this project!

If you have an empty wall that needs some love, I'd gladly help you with it!
